If possible, I would like to see a simple explanation of the 10j Rule. And if Rep. Boebert's "Trust the Science " HB 764 should be established and wolves are federally delisted, how would the reintroduced wolves be protected?
In '08, I was fortunate to draw an archery RMBS tag as a Non-resident with 3+0 weighted points! I just wanted to thank CODPW for a fantastic hunting memory! I've never seen a place where I could comment previously!! Now - I'm hoping for a Moose tag!
100% support going to 90/10 resident/NR allocation. This gives residents first opportunity to prime tags and still gives nonresident access to plenty of tags in less premiere units!
I am 65 years old and have 23 elk preference points. When I choose a license that requires 5 preference points to win the draw why don't you eliminate 5 preference points from my 23 instead of taking them all. How many years do you think I have left
Why not give hunting preferences to seniors? Your new rules for new youth hunters SUCK! I have limited years to hunt. Drawing a elk tag every 4 years CURRENTLY SUCKS in the group applications. I spend my money in other states that want my money!!!
Your drawing system seriously broken for moose, sheep, and goats. I am 54 years old and have applied for moose since I was 18. This year will make 36 years. Every year I look at the draw results and people are drawing on their 4th 5th and 6th year.
This state is too populated for wolves to be successful, it is not fair to the species, they will be in constant conflict. Voters have no idea what they were voting for!! Huge mistake for the wildlife resource of Colorado. No one wins
Ballot box biology is no way to manage wildlife in the state of Colorado, Prop 114 is a tragedy and no one is going to win including CPW and neither are the wolves. This state is too populated for wolves to be successful
Do not allow the Timber Wolves in Colorado! I’m from Minnesota and have seen the devastation caused by them.
I am in the woods daily and grew up on a farm and know the wolf needs it population kept way way down!!!
Keep them out of your State!!
The wolf induction program is a mistake for ranchers and livestock, the lack of communication with the seasons for big game is one of the jokes from CPW, also the lack of regulation for non hunters is bs, people are allowed to ride in hunting areas
On wolves introduction--I am totally concerned for my safety as I walk in the back country and I am 80 years old. Do I need to start carrying a weapon? I am scared.
Extend the buck rifle season to later in November. Working hunters due to Thanksgiving would have a few more days off to hunt.
Why are the use of dogs permitted to hunt Cougars? Seems a bit primitive.
Tradition or necessity?
The 2022 License distribution focus group used only 96 people and it seems like it should have been a lot more. I signed up and was never contacted. I would think we need more like 500 min participants.
Moose over population and damage to trees from them
1. Cap or go limited entry for all archery seasons.
2. Raise the price of the tags for residents and nonresidents by 25%.
3. Cap both over the counter rifle seasons.
4. Allow scopes on muzzleloaders.
make clear when surveys are available; make surveys more in-depth.
e.g., wanted more information about proposed changes in-survey; wanted NE region waterfowl survey to go far deeper.
Surveys seem too simple.
Concerning the introduction of wolves, you have already found there are many wolves already in CO and they are protected. To bring more of them into the state will thin down the already shrinking herds of elk, deer and moose. This is a bad idea.
Wolf introduction. I do not think the whole state of Colorado should have been granted to vote on introducing wolves when it will only impact the western slope. In my time in woods in future, I hope I do not encounter wolves.
Keep OTC archery elk tags for residents and limit non residents to OTC with caps.
90/10% split for high demand units, 80/20% for all others.
Enforce a hard cap on all non resident % through primary draw.
