Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is developing a new 10-year strategic plan to guide its work from 2026 to 2036. CPW is working in close collaboration with consultants to gather input from staff, stakeholders, the public and tribal partners.

Feedback is being collected through May 26, 2025 below.

Why a new Strategic Plan?

CPW's current Strategic Plan was adopted in 2015. While this plan has guided our efforts well since then, it's no surprise that the world around us has changed significantly in 10 years. CPW’s 2026 Strategic Plan will serve as a roadmap to address current and future challenges and opportunities, enhance our service to the public, and strengthen our commitment to stewardship of parks and wildlife resources balanced with outdoor recreation opportunities.

Who is involved in developing the Strategic Plan?

This collaborative effort is being led by CPW with input from internal leaders and staff, the Parks and Wildlife Commission, Tribes and Indigenous communities, and the public. The key consultants supporting the development of the Strategic Plan are Prosono and The Equity Project.
